CANADIAN GRAND PRIX 2006 Race

The 2006 Canadian Grand Prix took place on June 25, 2006 at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Montreal.

Fernando Alonso took yet another win and increased his championship lead over Michael Schumacher, who finished second.

Schumacher was trapped behind Trulli for many laps. When he finally passed him Alonso had gained a considerable lead over Schumacher.

With only a few laps remaining, Jacques Villeneuve crashed into the wall while trying to lap a slow Ralf Schumacher and that brought out the safety car.

Raikkonen, who was 2nd behind the safety car, was unable to take advantage of closing up on Alonso due to back-markers in front of him. Near the end of the race Kimi Raikkonen was passed by Michael Schumacher.
