JACQUES VILLENEUVE Formula One

1996
* His debut race in Australia, taking pole position and almost winning the race. But an oil leak forced him to slow down but he did manage to hold on to second place.
* Villeneuve won his first Formula One race at the Nurburging. He won a further three races, his four race victories still stand as the most in a rookie season (matched by Lewis Hamilton in 2007)
1997
* This year Villeneuve once again challenged for the title battling with double World Champion Michael Schumacher
* Jacques won the Brazil, Argentia, Spanish, British, Hungarin, Austrian and Luxembourg Grand Prix .He also claimed ten pole positions.
* at the final race at Jerez, Villeneuve came on top and won the World Championship in his second season
1998
* Villeneuve's carreer went into a sharp decline and he failed to win a single race, although he did finish on the podium in Germany & Hungary.
* Jacques finished fifth in the Drivers' Championship with 21 points, 79 points behind Champion Mika Hakkinen
